2011 High Power Rifle Match Schedule

NRA Approved Tournament  

 

 

Where:    Mechanicsburg Sportsmen’s Association 100 yard range

 

When:     May 29, June 19, July 4, August 28, September 18, and October 15, 2011

Location:   We are located in Cumberland County, PA, between Carlisle and Harrisburg with easy access from Route 81 (Exit 57-Mechanicsburg-Rt 114).  Take 114W to 944E (Wertzville Road). Turn right onto 944E.  In 3/10 of a mile, turn left onto Millers Gap Road (at Visaggio’s).  Take Millers Gap Road 8/10 of a mile.  Turn right onto Sample Bridge Road. Proceed to 493 Sample Bridge Road, club entrance is on the right.

 

Open to:    Any adult or junior.  Conventional Service rifles, Match rifles, Foreign service rifles.  New division for 2010:  NRA Any Sight Match Rifle/Tactical Rifle.

 

Entry Fee:   Adults:  $10. Juniors: $5  Pre-registration is requested.  Walk-on’s will be taken up to range capacity.

 

Firing starts:   9:00 am--first relay (conventional 50-shot high power match).  10:30--second relay (32-shot NRA High Power Sporting Rifle match). Check in at the new clubhouse before your relay to obtain or verify relay and position assignment

 

Rules:   All current NRA High Power Rules apply.  No alibi firing due to range limitations.

 

Match course:   50 shot National Match Course (modified)

·         10 Rounds Standing Slow Fire —10 minutes

·         10 Rounds Sitting Rapid Fire – 60 seconds

·         10 Rounds Prone Rapid Fire – 70 seconds

·         20 Rounds Prone Slow Fire – 20 minutes

Targets:   NRA Official Competition Targets, SR-1, SR-21, MR-31

 

Classification:   Competitors need not hold a current NRA classification.  Scores will be submitted to the NRA for classification purposes.  Match fee includes the NRA classification fee.

 

General Information:   Shooters must provide their own eye and ear protection.  Open bolt indicators are required (available for purchase at the range).  A limited number of AR-15’s are available for use by participants, juniors have first preference; no reloads permitted in these rifles.  Participation in this event also meets one of the requirements for obtaining a CMP M1.
